Serving God with Gladness

The women had a great time at Friday Night Study: Serving God with Gladness, enjoying a time of dinner and fellowship together, and also hearing a lesson from God’s Word! In her lesson, Kayleen taught us how we can have an unchanging gladness in our service when it is founded on God. Sometimes women can become mechanical in their service; however, our service should be the outpouring of our personal relationship with God (Psalm 100). When our joy in serving is rooted in the unwavering character of God, such as His lovingkindness and faithfulness (Psalm 100:5), it can grow exponentially, spurring others on in their service as well. When our service is lacking in joy or thankfulness, we can choose to remember God’s character and be thankful for who He is! Additionally, rather than feeling like serving is too much of a sacrifice, we can remember that our entire lives are meant to be worship to God (Romans 12:1-2). Rather than being motivated by a fear of man or fear of consequences in our service, we can prioritize having a genuine heart before God instead of how we appear before man (1 Samuel 12:24), which will naturally lead to the right foundation for joy and thankfulness. Praise God that service is part of our ongoing relationship with God, and we can deepen our relationship and get to see Him at work in our service, leading to even more gladness!
