5:17 is our men’s ministry at RGC. Aptly named after our theme verse, 2 Corinthians 5:17, we aim to strengthen men to live out the reality that they have been made anew, spiritually, in Christ.
To that end, we currently offer several different ministries – Drones Club, Men’s Fellowship, Head of Household, Priority One, The Lounge, The Timothy Project and Men's Conference. We believe that God created men to play the specific roles of leaders, teachers, stewards, and protectors. We aim to build men who know what their callings are and to actively live it out for His glory. This year's theme for our Men's Ministry is "Leading through Faith" with the goal of building up our men to be leaders by living out their faith consistently and zealously.

Sheng is one of the Men's Ministry leaders at Redeemer's Grace Church located in San Diego. He has a passion for investing in men knowing that the Lord will use His Word to raise leaders for His church who will preach the gospel, love their wives, disciple their children, and serve the body of Christ by the power of the Spirit. He and his wife, Joanna are currently raising their sons Samuel, Roee and Seth! They also have a Youtube channel ministry called The Biblical Couple where they teach on how to have a biblical marriage.
Ben is one of our deacons at Redeemer’s Grace Church and co-leads the Men’s Ministry. Ben enjoys seeing God’s creation in his work as a scientist in cancer therapy. He and his wife, Kayleen, love to spend their time having people over at their home and serving the church.
Men's Events
Men's Fellowship
Drones Club is our bimonthly event where we aim to teach the biblical mandate of masculinity while fostering unity and camaraderie through team challenges and workshops to hone essential manly skills. In order to be sharp tools for God we need to establish strong relationships focused on a mutual sharpening of one another in the application of scripture.
Men’s Fellowship meets at 11am on the first Sundays of each month. Together we will be studying what it really means to be a leader and how God's high calling for men to lead can be accomplished only through a life of faith.
Men's Conference
Head of Household
Men's Conference will be May 8-10, 2026, where we will be studying the lives of Elijah and Elisha through 7 messages throughout the weekend. Come learn how you too can be a man set apart for God.
Head of Household is our second bimonthly event where we focus on the wisdom of leading and influencing in our households, whether we are living with other men or with our wife and children. Christian men must take seriously their responsibility over their household to provide, nourish, and train up his household without fearing man or fearing responsibility.
The Lounge
The Lounge addresses important questions that our men have and need to grow in. Whether that be addressing dating, relationships or other important topics. We want to give our men the clarity and the definition to do all things according to biblical principles to the glory of God!
Priority One
Priority One is our ministry dedicated to building up the purity of our men. There is victory over sin in Christ and we want all men to take hold of that grace to run hard after Christ.
