Women of Gold

Always Giving Thanks

Event Recap

At our second Women of Gold event in our series on “Wholehearted Gratitude,” Sara taught us how God’s abundant generosity is at the heart of contentment in all circumstances, leading to a life of daily thankfulness. For example, God is generous in His lovingkindness and faithfulness (Psalm 36:5), goodness and righteousness (Psalm 145:7), daily grace (2 Corinthians 9:8) and much more! God does not withhold anything from us, instead He delights to give us all things in full. When we are discontent, this reveals a heart attitude that distrusts God’s generosity. Even in trials, God is good to use our circumstances for His wise purposes and to provide us with all we need.

Sara then taught us three keys to thankfulness. First, we do not deserve God’s generosity, but He deserves our thanksgiving. We often act entitled but in reality we are wholly undeserving of God’s grace and goodness, making Him worthy of all praise (Psalm 95:2-3). Second, when believers are filled with the Holy Spirit through God’s Word, it enables us to have a supernatural thankfulness (Ephesians 5:18-20). Third, God is the source and initiator of generosity, and we can grow in thankfulness by recognizing His work in our lives. In every circumstance, let us call to mind the truths of who our God is and cultivate a response of thankfulness for God’s unchanging generosity!

Afterwards, Caroline taught a practical training on investments and savings. We learned biblical principles about how to view money rightly as well as various ways to divide a budget, different types of saving accounts, and different ways to invest money.

We had a great time at “Always Giving Thanks” and were encouraged to grow in thankfulness in our daily lives by knowing these amazing truths! We hope you will join us for our next Women of Gold event, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Event Testimonial

Here's what our sister Julia learned:

“It was so much fun to hear Sara’s lesson at Women of Gold about how we can always be giving thanks to God. I really enjoyed learning about God’s generosity and how He is perfectly and infinitely generous in all His attributes, such as love and mercy. She talked about how God’s character never changes, so neither should my thanksgiving towards Him change. One particular takeaway I had was that I should be on the lookout to see how God is working in my life because God is always working in my life, and how I can be ready to praise Him and thank Him for it.”
